ABOUT THE LAB

At PrescribingVR, we study the use of VR in real-world care settings—its integration into practice, patterns of engagement over time, and the factors that enable or limit its use across populations and contexts. 

 

At UHN's OpenLab and York University, our work spans early foundational research in the field and continues to advance rigorous evaluation and applied understanding as VR moves further into health and care systems.

REAL-WORLD EFFICACY TRIALS

We design and conduct pragmatic clinical trials that evaluate the effectiveness of VR interventions as they are delivered in practice, examining health outcomes alongside usability, engagement, and contextual factors that influence impact.

HUMAN-CENTRED DESIGN

 We develop and adapt interventions in collaboration with patients, caregivers, clinicians, and care teams, ensuring alignment with real-world needs and constraints.

IMPLEMENTATION & MEASUREMENT

We evaluate how interventions are introduced and sustained in practice, and develop approaches to capturing meaningful outcomes using both high- and low-technology methods.
